Large Compression Springs
Definition: Coil compression springs manufactured using hefty wire diameters therefore making the springs large in size.
Large compression springs may also be known as heavy duty compression springs. Like anything, since they are large they are used to undergo some considerable amounts of load. These springs are usually manufactured with large wire diameters along with the rest of its dimensions which give them the advantage of being able to carry large loads even if the dimensions don't have a tight spring index or a very little coils which gives us too much pitch in between the coils.
Buy large compression springs at The Spring Store. We have an extensive compression spring catalog which includes several large compression spring designs. Our springs go up to over 1" (inch) in wire diameter and 9.250" (inches) in outer diameter. Large compression spring wires will usually be made of Oil Tempered MB A229 but you will still find springs made of Spring Steel ASTM A228, Hard Drawn ASTM A227, and Stainless Steel 302 A313.
Find your springs using our new and improved Spring Finder tool! Spring Finder now allows you to input several dimensions and you have control over the tolerances. This way, you will be able to find exactly what you need. The range in outer diameter may be from 1 to 2 inches instead of this being a standard tolerance based on percentages. Now you're able to set your tolerances and ranges on the dimensions you are basing your search off of.
